1. The rapid development of the transformer manufacturing industry

The "2013-2017 China Transformer Manufacturing Industry Market Demand Forecast and Investment Strategic Planning Analysis Report" released by the Prospective Industry Research Institute shows that my country's transformer manufacturing industry has developed well. In 2012, the industry achieved a total industrial output value of 322.26 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7.30 %; the sales revenue was 317.074 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 9.28%; the total import and export volume was 24.842 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 29.82%. At the same time, the industry sales profit margin remained above 10%. It shows that the production capacity and sales volume of the transformer manufacturing industry continue to grow, the import and export market is picking up, and the industry's profitability is relatively high.

2. Intense competition in the transformer manufacturing industry

There are more than 1,000 transformer enterprises above designated size in my country, of which small enterprises account for more than 80%. The enterprises in the industry are mainly small and medium-sized enterprises. At the same time, due to the high level of profitability, new enterprises are constantly attracted to enter the industry, leading to competition. There are many players and the competition is fierce. On the other hand, the market concentration of the industry is relatively low. The Qianzhan Industry Research Institute found that its CR4 was lower than 20% by measuring its sales concentration and profit concentration, which showed an atomic market structure. In addition, foreign leading transformer manufacturing enterprises have entered the Chinese market by virtue of their technical level, management, resources and other advantages, further intensifying the competition among enterprises in the domestic market.

3. New energy power generation brings new opportunities for transformers

From the perspective of some new energy power generation industries in my country, the installed capacity of wind power, photovoltaic power generation, garbage power generation, waste heat power generation, etc. has maintained growth. By the end of 2012, the country's cumulative installed wind power capacity was 60.83 million kilowatts, a year-on-year growth rate of 35.0%. As a necessary transmission and distribution equipment in the power generation industry, the demand for transformers is closely related to the scale of investment in the power grid. In recent years, the rapid development of new energy power generation industry has brought better development space for transformers, and it has also become an important direction for transformer manufacturers to seize market segments and expand their business scope. At the same time, it also promotes the optimization of transformer product structure and technological innovation.

Fourth, the prospect of transformers in new energy power generation

Taking wind power and solar power generation as an example, the state plans that by 2020, the installed capacity of wind power in my country will reach 150 million kilowatts, and between 2012 and 2020, the newly installed capacity of wind power will be about 87 million kilowatts. The newly installed capacity of power generation equipment is closely related, and its ratio is close to 12:1. The Prospective Industry Research Institute estimates that by 2020, the demand for transformers in my country's wind power industry will increase by about 1.044 billion kVA. At the same time, according to the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan for Renewable Energy Development", by the end of 2015, the domestic solar power installed capacity target is expected to be raised to 15 million kilowatts. From 2012 to 2015, the new installed capacity of photovoltaic power generation will be about 11 million kilowatts. By 2015, the demand for new transformers in the photovoltaic power generation industry is about 132 million kVA. It can be seen that transformers have broad development prospects in the new energy power generation industry.
